Carolyn Anne Watson is making plans for entering Oklahoma A. & M. college next fall. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Watson, 906 Jackson street. Carolyn was born May 3, 1938, in Buffalo, and came to Perry with her parents in 1943. She has been a member of the Maroon band, Red Hots pep club, National Honor society, yearbook staff, and took part in her junior and senior class plays. Her favorite subject is Problems of American Democracy.

Carolyn Anne Adkins, 86, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Born on May 3, 1938, in Buffalo, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Milo Wayne Watson and Anne Mae (Dicus) Watson. She graduated from Perry High School and then attended Oklahoma State University where she met the love of her life, Richard Martin Adkins. They were married on May 31, 1959, in Perry, Oklahoma, and shared many years of marriage, family, and memories together.

Carolyn was a financial officer at Phoenix Federal Savings and Loans for many years. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and bird watching. Carolyn loved being surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Anne Watson; and her husband, Richard (Coach) Adkins.

Survivors include her sons, Greg Adkins and wife Debbie, and David Adkins and wife Tammy; her daughter, Patty Anne Henderson; her grandchildren, Missy Flavel, Justin Adkins and wife Mac, Rachel Adkins, Eric Adkins and wife Cindy, Kyle Adkins and wife Ada, and Zoey Henderson; and many precious great-grandchildren who she adored.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be 2PM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Greenhill Cemetery with Rev. Monty Baggett officiating.
