Charles Frank Shultz

June 25, 1895 – July 30, 1948

Charles F. Shultz, formerly of Perry, died in Los Angeles, California, on July 30, 1948.

Born in Sabetha, Kansas, on June 25, 1895, he was the son of Milton Bruce Shultz and Nettie May (Hoover) Shultz of Perry. After his graduation from Perry high he served in Company D 357th Infantry, 90th Division during WWI.

Upon his return from military service he was employed at the post office in Oklahoma City and went into partnership with a friend, Henry Rucker, to establish a tire company in Blackwell in 1927. By 1930 he had moved Beverly Hills, California. He worked as a conductor for the Pacific Electric railway for many years. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Slavin.

Survivors include wife, Elizabeth “Betty”, of Los Angeles; step-daughter, Dorothy, Los Angeles; sisters, Mrs. Orville (Grace) Foster and Mrs. Harold (Edna) Daniels, both of Perry; and brother, John Shultz, of Kansas City, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Los Angeles, California.
