Col. Raymond Morrow St.Clair

June 14, 1903 – January 28, 1966

Col. Raymond M. St.Clair (Retired), 3526 Edgebrook Dr., San Antonio, Texas, died January 28, 1966, in a local hospital at the age of 62 years.

Born in Billings, Oklahoma, on June 14, 1903, he was the son of Hugh Edmond and Nancy Amelda Mack St.Clair. During the summer of 1922 he voluntarily attended a month’s training for reserve officers’ commission at the civilians training camp in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.

Before enlisting in the United States’ Army in March of 1925, he was employed by the Mormon Motor Company of Indianapolis, Indiana. For almost five years he was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, with the rank of staff sergeant. In February, 1930, he was sent to a finance school in Washington, D. C. He had the honor of achieving the highest average in the class of twenty-seven men. In November, 1943, St.Clair was promoted from the rank of major to that of lieutenant colonel. He retired from the military on March 31, 1951, with the rank of Colonel.

Col. St.Clair was a member of the Presbyterian Church, served as Finance Officer with the 10th Armored Division during WWII and former member of the 2nd Division.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna A. (Chamberlin) St.Clair; daughter, Mrs. Everette (Hazel) Epting, Mather A.F.B. Calif., Mrs. F. D. (Cathy) Faulkner, Mesquite, Tex., Mrs. Drue L. (Margaret) Ratliff, Dallas, Tex.; son, Raymond M. St. Clar Jr., Mesquite, Tex.; sisters, Mrs. Marie Morgan, Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Henry Bennett, Oklahoma City, Okla.; brothers, Johnny St. Clair, Azusa, Calif., Harold St.Clair, Perry, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held in Ft. Sam Houston Post Chapel, Wednesday, Feb. 2nd at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
