Dudley Roger Tucker, Jr.

October 2, 1908 – August 24, 1975

Dudley R. Tucker, Jr., 66, of 3520 N. Virginia, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Sunday at home following a long illness.

Born in Oklahoma City on October 2, 1908, he was the son of Dudley Rogers Tucker and Elizabeth Ann Irwin Tucker. The family moved to Perry during Dudley’s junior year. Following his Perry high school graduation in 1926, he attended the University of Oklahoma for three years, where he was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity.

After completing his education he worked for Columbia pictures in Oklahoma City. On July 1, 1939, he and Adys Ardell Cummings were married at the First Church of Christ in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. To this union a daughter and a son were born.

Dudley served in the 3rd Marine Airwing during World War II. After the war he was again connected with Columbia pictures for a total of 25 years, the the last years as a manufacturers representative.

He was a member of the Variety Club, Young Men’s Club, Lakeview County Club and the First Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Adys; a son, Dudley R., III, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mrs. Tom Wright, Houston; a sister, Mrs. Howard Estes, Oklahoma City, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Long Research at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

Services are set for 2.p.m. Tuesday at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral home, Oklahoma City, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
