Marie Anne (Streller) Nordin

March 24, 1918 – January 1, 2004

Marie Anne Nordin, 85, died January 1, 2004, in Oklahoma City after a long illness.

She was born in Perry, OK, on March 24, 1918, to John A. and Anna M. Streller. Following her graduation from Perry high, she attended the University Prepatory College at Tonkawa, Oklahoma for two years before graduating from the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma with a B.S. in chemistry in 1940. In 1943 she graduated from the St. Anthony School of Nursing, and then practiced as a registered nurse at several hospitals in Oklahoma City until her retirement in 1983.

In 1956 she married George A. Nordin, who died in 1959, leaving her to raise their son.

After her retirement, she was active in the American Association of University Women and the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and as a volunteer at St. Anthony Hospital.

Survivors include: her son, John Michael Nordin, and his wife, Lee Ann Nordin; and granddaughters, Elizabeth Lee Nordin and Ann Marie Nordin.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Villa Teresa School, 1216 Classen Drive, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73103.
