Ruth Ann Hough, 41, died Thursday in an ambulance near Hays, Kan., while being removed from her home at Peck, Kan., where she had recently been making her home. She had been ill for several months.
Born in Kansas on April 23, 1904, she was the daughter of Ira and Nettie E. Washburn Elswick. She graduated from Perry high in 1923 and was employed at J. C. Penney for a year before her marriage to Curtis Raymond Hough on November 6, 1926, in Fort Worth, Texas. To this union two sons were born, Raymond and Gilbert.
Ruth and the children made their home with her parents in Perry and in Bartlesville where Ruth entered the employment of the local draft board. She was later promoted to chief clerk of the board, a position she held until the fall of 1944 when she accepted a position with the Cities Service Gas company and was transferred to Oklahoma City. Later she resigned that position to go to Peck, Kansas to make her home.
Immediate survivors include her mother and sons.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Byrd-Snodgrass mortuary chapel, Wichita, Kansas at 2 p.m. Monday with Dr. Asa J. Ferry officiating. Interment will be in the Waco Cemetery, Waco, Kansas.
