Lila (Wright) Branham

Lila Wright Branham, 86, died on August 12, 1990.

Born in Perry, Oklahoma on June 13, 1904, she was the daughter of Charles Corbin and Alice Aletha Shuler Wright. She was active in Perry high school, graduating in 1923. Between her junior and senior years she enrolled at Oklahoma A. & M. In January, 1924, she began training at the Oklahoma University School of Nursing, where she received a graduate nurse degree in 1926.

On July 3, 1925, she and Donald Wilton Branham were married in El Reno, Oklahoma. He became an Oklahoma City physician and chairman of the Department of Urology of the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. They were blessed with three children and spent most of their lives in Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wilton Branham, in 1961.

Survivors include: two sons, Donald Wright Branham of Dallas and Charles E. Branham of Oklahoma City: one daughter, Georgia Branham Smith, Denver, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildre; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be private. Burial will be at the Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, Oklahoma City, or the charity of your choice.
