Joe McClellan
– son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe McClellan of Perry, was born in Perry on June 8, 1920. He attended the elementary grades in Perry and attended high school in Perry. During his high school career he participated in basketball and football, was a member of State Honor Society and was vice president of the National Honor Society in his senior year. Following graduation he is going to the University of Oklahoma where he expects to major in Petroleum Engineering.
Joseph Leo McClellan, Jr.

Joseph L. McClellan Jr, 68, died Wednesday, July 20, 1988.
Born in Billings, Oklahoma, on June 8, 1920, he was the son of Joseph Leo and Madge E. Hester McClellan. Following his graduation from Perry High school in 1937, he graduated from Iowa State University in Civil Engineering, and received an LLB from the University of Oklahoma. He was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
Returning to Perry, he practiced law 1948-50 and served as attorney with continental Oil Company in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He served as senior counsel with Conoco in Houston 1967-1978. From 1979-1983 he was employed with Tenneco Coal Company. He was a member of the Oklahoma, Texas, and American Bar Associations.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Hassell McClellan; daughter, Regan A McClellan, New Orleans, LA; Son, Patrick J. McClellan and wife Tina; three grandchildren, Andrew, Katherine, and Will McClellan, all of Houston; and mother, Madge Hester McClellan, Perry, Oklahoma.
Graveside services and interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, 1988, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, at Eldridge Rd. Houston, Texas, with the Rev. Bob Attaway Jr., officiating.
