Dick Hall

– son of Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Hall, was born in Tulsa, but has attended the Perry schools all his life. He is a member of the wrestling team, band, national honor society and has received special manual training awards. He plans on taking a business course next year.

Ora Richard “Dick” Hall, Jr.

October 13, 1920 – January 8, 1996

Ora Richard “Dick” Hall Jr., 75, a resident of Ogden, Utah, died January 8, 1996, at his winter home in Litchfield Park, of causes incident to cancer.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 13, 1920, he was the son of Ora R. and Matilda Victoria Ringler Hall. He lived with his family in Perry and, as a Boy Scout, attained the rank of Eagle in 1936. Following his graduation from Perry High school in 1938 he graduated from the Mexico Military Institute in 1940. Hall graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma school of law in 1943 and was a member of the Oklahoma Bar association.

He was an officer in the 13th Armored Division of the United States Army and served in the European Theater during World War II.

After the war, Hall worked at the Exchange Bank of Perry. He founded the Federal Abstract Company of Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1948 and worked as an independent oil producer in Rosewell, New Mexico from 1958-1969, and managed a variety of business interests in which he was actively involved until his death.

On Jan. 1, 1942, he and Edna Ione Elliott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Elliott, were married in Rosewell, New Mexico. The Halls recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in the presence of members of their immediate family.

A daughter, Elizabeth June Fry, of Pleasant View, Utah, preceded him in death.

In addition to his widow, Hall is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Miller, West Haven Utah, and Patricia Ione Weckel, Carlsbad, New Mexico; two sons, Lawrence Jackson Hall, Austin, Texas, George Elliott Hall, Huntsville, Utah; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, George W. Hall, Perry; and one sister, Willa June Morgan, Gilroy, California.

Memorial services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Episcopal church in Litchfield Park, AZ. Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Ogden Nature Center, 966 West Twelfth street, Ogden, UT 84404.
