Mildred Malzahn

– age 16 years, daughter of Mrs. Helena Malzahn, was born on October 14, 1924, at Perry, and has attended schools in this city for 10 years.

She is a member of the Rainbow choir and director of that organization, and also has been a member of the high school band.

Mildred appeared in the junior class play. She collects paper matches as a hobby.

She plans to become a laboratory technician and nurse in the future.

Mildred Vera (Malzahn) Ingram

Mildred Ingram, 75, of Odessa, Texas, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at her residence.

Born in Perry, Oklahoma, on Oct. 14, 1924, she was the daughter of Gustave A. and Helena E. Freese Malzahn. Following her graduation from Perry High school in 1941, she attended a business college in Oklahoma City.

During World War II she worked as a clerk at the Noble County war price and rationing board in Perry.

She married Jack Walton Ingram Sr. and they moved to Odessa in 1958. She was a retired bookkeeper for General Machine, Shorty Hall Rig Company and Cherokee Drilling.

She loved to travel and had been a member of the Good Sam’s Club and Holiday Rambler Club.

Her husband, Jack, preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1989.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Byrd of Florien, La.; sons, Jack Ingram Jr. and Richard Ingram, both of Odessa; three grandchildren, Jack W. Ingram III, Rene Ingram and Jeremiah Byrd; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Alice Laster of Pecos, Dora Kamp and Irene Slater, both of Perry, Okla.

Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa, Texas, with the Rev. William Chapman officiating.
