Esther Mae Hauer
– daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Edward Hauer. She attended the Lutheran school and the Perry high school, where she is a member of the glee club, student council and national honor society. She will attend St. John’s college in Winfield, Kans., next year to prepare for parish work.

Esther M. Dunklau, 88, of Clinton Township, Mich., died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Henry Ford Hospice in Warren, Mich.
She was born July 20, 1921, in Perry, Okla., to the Rev. Edward and Rose (Zerbe) Hauer. She married Harold H. Dunklau on June 30, 1946, in Leavenworth, Kan. She was a former member of Calvary Lutheran Church and School in Kansas City, Mo., where she taught kindergarten and first grade classes, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Macomb, Mich., and a faithful member of several Bible classes. Her husband preceded her in death June 5, 2001.
Survivors include: a son, Edward H. Dunklau (and wife, Linda) of Macomb Township, Mich.; a brother, Edward (and wife, Mary Beth) Hauer of Manhattan, Kan.; two grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
She also was preceded in death by three siblings.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Macomb with the Revs. Dr. Robert E. Kasper and Kenneth C. Wagener officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Hauss Funeral Home in Macomb Township and will continue one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery north of Arlington. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Macomb-Esther Dunklau Memorial Fund or Calvary Lutheran Church-Esther Dunklau Memorial Fund, 7500 Oak St., Kansas City, MO 64114. Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of local arrangements.
