Roy Lee Eastin plans to enroll at Oklahoma State Tech, Okmulgee, to learn diesel engineering after leaving Perry high school. He is the 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eastin, 701 Twelfth street. He was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Newkirk and attended grade school there. Eastin was a member of Teen Town, 1956-57; student council, 1958-59; assembly program, 1956-57; and played football and basketball, 1956-57. Hunting, fishing and automobiles are his hobbies. English is his favorite subject.

Roy Lee Eastin

January 11, 1941 – June 3, 2002

Roy L. Eastin, 61, died June 3, 2002, in Brentwood, California.

Born in Newkirk, Oklahoma on January 11, 1941, he was the daughter of Roy John and Ruth Goldiana Eastin. Following his graduation from Perry High School in 1959, Roy enlisted in the Air Force.

On April 15, 1960, Roy and fellow 1959 PHS graduate, Billie Gayle Elliott, were married. At the time of their marriage Roy was serving in the Air Force and returned to his base at San Bernardino, Californa to finish his enlistment. Billie returned to her work in Oklahoma City, but joined him mid-summer. While in California they were blessed with the birth of a son and daughter.

The family lived in California cities before moving to Arizona. Billie died in 1998 when they lived in Bull Head, Arizona. After her death, Roy moved back to California.

Survivors include: a son, Eric; and daughter, Teresa.

Burial will be at Grace Hill cemetery in Perry.
