Born Nov. 9, 1941, in Tulsa, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Quincy Ferguson, 401 Locust street. He has attended Mulhall and Perry schools. Ferguson was a member of the Future Farmers of America in 1955-57. Shop is his favorite subject and he likes house construction as a hobby.

Lloyd Quincy Ferguson

November 9, 1941 – June 29, 2008

Lloyd Q. Ferguson, 66, a milk man of Porterville, California, passed away on June 29, 2008.

Born in Sperry, Oklahoma on November 9, 1941, he was the son of Loyd and Christina Ferguson. Following his graduation from Perry high school in 1959, he and Carolyn Rae Stanley were married. They made their first home in Beaver, Oklahoma, at the Leroy Bobbitt dairy farm before moving to Perry for a time. The couple were blessed with three children and settled in California.

They lived in Avenal, California for 21 years, where Lloyd owned and operated Avenal Milk Sales and numerous restaurants.

Over the years he was a member of Avenal and Porterville Masonic Lodge, and Porterville Elks Lodge.

He loved motorcycling, traveling, cooking and most importantly, his family and his faithful dogs who stayed by him day and night.

Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Carolyn; three children, Patti Medlin of Perry, Oklahoma, Wayne Ferguson, Sherri and husband Jesse Shields and their children Jennyfer, Adam, and Amanda still of the home; two brothers, Harvey and wife Brenda of Rose, Oklahoma; and brother John of Perry Oklahoma.

Lloyd’s grandchildren are Christy and husband David Acosta and their six sons Isaiah, Cameron, Alex, Kaiden, Nicholas, and Noah of Bakersfield, CA; Heatherlynn and husband Bob Barnett and their two sons Levi and Landon of Perry, Okla; Jesse Shields, Jr and his children Kobie, Jesseca and Ba Jesse of Porterville, CA; Ashley and her husband Matt Schoonover and their daughter Vada of Coarsgold, CA.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church on “G” Street, Porterville, California on Friday July 4th at 10:00 a.m.
