Phillip Gregory Terronez, Jr.

Phillip G. Terronez, 92, died April 27, 2020, in Wharton, Texas,
Born in Perry, Oklahoma on March 12, 1928, he was the son of Phillip A. and Guadalupe Reyes Terronez. He graduated from Perry high school in 1947. In 1949 he became a member of the naval reserve unit at Stillwater. While he waited to be called for active duty, Phil worked at the M & W Food Store in Perry. Phil was called for active duty on Sept 5, 1951. He spent most of his two years service in Japan on a repair ship, the USS Jason. He resumed working at M & W following his discharge.
In December, 1954, he resigned as assistant manager at the food store, to enter business college at Enid. At his graduation ceremony from Enid Business College, he crowned the queen of the 1956 class.
Phil married and settled in Texas.
Preceding him in death were his parents and 7 sisters.
Survivors include: wife, Shirley; children, Steven Nightengale (Bonnie), Daniel Terronez (Sherrie), David Terronez (Margaret), and Angelia Terronez; 2 sisters; 3 brothers; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 10 am at the Schulenburg City Cemetery in Schulenburg, Texas. Military Honors will be conducted by the Schulenburg American Legion. The family requests donations be made to Houston Hospice at El Campo or a charity of one’s choice.
