“After graduation I plan to get married and raise a small family,” says Dennis Ray Davis. Dennis, who has attended Christ Lutheran and Perry public schools, is the 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis, 1116 Second street. He was born in Kiowa, Kansas, February 10, 1934. Dennis has been a member of the Distributive Education club for the past two years and took part in his freshman and junior class assembly programs.

Dennis Ray Davis, 83, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away March 4, 2017.

Born in Kiowa, Kansas on February 10, 1934, he was the son of Leo Lorane and Rosa L. (Gwinup) Davis. Following his graduation from Perry high school in 1952 he was hired at an aircraft plant in Wichita, Kansas.

He and fellow alumni, Gayle Marie Abel, were married on August 16, 1952, and made their home in Wichita. Dennis retired from Cessna as a Tool and Dye maker.

Preceding him in death were: his son, Steven Davis; siblings, Lorna Adams, Duane Davis, and Roger Davis.

Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, Gayle Davis; daughter, Deah Davis; grandchildren, Matthew (Rebekah) Skillen, Joseph (Ginger) Skillen, Steven Skillen and Aaron and Emily Davis; great grandchildren, Avery, Ezra, Wyatt and Mabel Skillen; and sister, Tommie Presley.

Funeral services will be at 3 pm, on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1820 E Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67214.
