“Be a telephone operator,” is the after-graduation ambition of Wanda Farmer, 17. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Farmer, 715 Seventh street. She has attended Seminole and Perry schools and was in the Seminole high pep club. Wanda was born in Seminole Oct. 5, 1934. She has also played tennis during her school career.

Wanda June (Farmer) Tarrant

Wanda June Tarrant, 88 years old of Whitesboro, TX went home to be with her personal Lord & Savior on February 25,2023.

Born in Seminole, Oklahoma on October 5, 1934, she was the daughter of Jimmie “Dan” and Marie (McCormick) Farmer. Following her graduation from Perry High School, she and Charles Allen Fielder were married on August 8, 1952, in Oklahoma City. The couple were blessed with two children before their divorce in 1960.

On June 29, 1968, she and Donald Gene Tarrant Sr were married in Grayson, Texas.

For 38 years, Wanda was employed by The Travelers Insurance Company until her retirement in April of 1993.

Nothing was more important to Wanda than her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and she professed her faith through baptism on August 10, 1980. Wanda was heavily involved in prison ministry for many years and believed that every person is made in the image of God and that no life is beyond His reach.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Danny Ray Farmer, and sisters Geraldine Gray, Mary Shugart, Karen Melton, and Joann Caraway.

Survivors include: her daughter, Linda Fielder; son, Larry Fielder; granddaughter Sierra; and many nieces and nephews.
