Philip E. Bolen, 17, is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Oscar Bolen, 819 Maple street. Born Sept 18, 1938, in Sedan, Kansas, he came to Noble county in August 1953. He also has attended school in Stillwater and Henryetta. Philip has been in the band and the Future Teachers association. He is undecided about his plans after graduation.

Rev. Philip Emanuel Bolen

September 18, 1938 – January 24, 2022

Rev. Philip Bolen, 83, died Friday, August 19, 2011, at his home in Dallas after a lengthy illness.

Born in Sedan, Kansas on September 18, 1938, he was the son of Oscar H. and Carrie Helen (Herring) Bolen. Following his graduation from Perry high school in 1956, he continued his education at Oklahoma A. & M. graduating in 1960 receiving a degree in Education.

Philip worked for a time in Pittsburg, Kansas before his induction into the U S Air Force. On August 7, 1970, he and Darlene A. Havner were married in Valley Center, Kansas. After living in Muskogee, Oklahoma and Springfield, Missouri for a short period of time, they moved to Tyler, Texas to assist in ministry at the First Assembly of God. They evangelized and traveled all over the United States, winning souls to God. After a time of evangelizing, the Bolens pastored churches in Mineral Wells, Texas and finally Christian Victory Fellowship in Dallas.

Survivors include: his sons, Nicholas Bolen and Preston Bolen; 2 grandchildren, Richard and Paul; and a brother.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Darlene.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 am February 10, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, in Dallas, Texas.
