Lois Ann (Stoddard) Shaw
January 25, 1939 – April 15, 2024
Lois Ann Shaw, 85, of Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, April 15, at McAlester Regional Health Center, McAlester, Oklahoma.
Born in Arkansas City, Kansas on January 25, 1939, she was the daughter of Leland Lewellen and Lena Ethel (Jones) Stoddard. Lois grew up in Perry, Okla and attended Perry high school.
On Oct. 21, 1955, she married Lester Lee Adams. They later moved to McAlester, where Lester passed away on March 15, 1973. Years later, on Feb. 14, 1994, Lois married Ron Shaw, and they made their home in Buffalo Valley.
Lois had a long career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, mainly working in nursing homes and care centers in McAlester and Latimer County. Lois was an animal lover and loved outdoor activities, especially fishing. She was also an accomplished painter. She was a devoted member of the First Assembly of God Church in Talihina.
Preceding her in death were: her parents; her first husband, Lester; brothers, Kenneth Stoddard, Donald Stoddard, and Allan Stoddard; and sister, Betty Rudd.
Survivors include: her husband, Ron Shaw; her children, Mark Adams and wife Peggy, Tony Adams, Jeff Adams and wife Tina, and Marcia Moore and husband Tim; seven grandchildren, Melanie Kirk and husband Tom, Shay Roberts, Jake Adams, Tylee Adams, Samuel Adams and wife Brittiany, Evan Adams, and Stone Adams; three great grandchildren, Gage Foster, Austin Foster, and Zoe Foster; and her special brother-in-law, Roy Shaw.
Funeral services are set for Saturday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester, with Pastor John Stepp officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
