William B. Rhees, 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Rhees, 1100 Graove street. Bill plans to study petroleum engineering at Oklahoma A. & M. college after graduation. Born Dec. 16, 1958, in Enid he likes to hunt and fish. Chemistry is his favorite subject. School activities have included football, band, baseball, golf, junior play, sophomore and freshman class assembly programs, 1956 frontiers of science award, homeroom vice president and secretary, student council, all-school revue, and band manager.
William Byron Rhees, II
December 16, 1958 – August 13, 2014
Long-time custom homebuilder William B. (Bill) Rhees, II, 74, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.
Born in Enid, Oklahoma on December 16, 1940, he was the son of Philip Roy Rhees and Maxine Rhees. Following his graduation from Perry High School in 1957, he continued his education at Oklahoma A. & M, Stillwater and Oklahoma university, Norman. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi social fraternity and served as social chairman during the 1959-60 academic year.
After serving in the US Marine Corps, Bill completed his education at the University of Tulsa, with a degree in business management and immediately went to work for Mager Mortgage Company in Tulsa.
He and Sharon Gail Foster, were married in Tulsa on September 5, 1962. The couple were blessed with two sons.
In 1974 Bill joined Boh-Mont Realtors as Vice-President, and formed BMI Construction Company to complete a residential development in Owasso. It was there that he discovered his love of residential construction.
In his career, Bill built hundreds of homes in the Tulsa area, and received numerous awards for his work. He was a 40-year member of the Homebuilder’s Association of Greater Tulsa, where he served as President and was named Builder of the Year in 1998. He was the first builder in northeast Oklahoma to receive the prestigious Master Builder designation from the National Association of Homebuilders, and served on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma State Homebuilders Association, where he was named Oklahoma Builder of the Year in 2013.
Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Sharon Gael (Foster) Rhees; sons, Patrick Rhees and Philip Rhees and daughter-in-law Gena; grandson Corey; granddaughter Rachel, all of Tulsa; sister-in-law Nancy Rhees; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Joseph Rhees.
Services will be at the South Tulsa Baptist Church, 10310 S. Sheridan Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133.
