John W. Keese plans to enroll at Central State college or Oklahoma State university after graduation from high school this spring. He is the 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Keese, 1023 Fir avenue. John was born July 27, 1940, in Ada, and has attended school in Edmond and Oklahoma City in addition to Perry. He has been here the past five years. John’s extra-curricular activities have included wrestling.

John Wayne Keese, 83, of Barnsdall passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Born in Ada, Oklahoma on July 27, 1940, he was the son of Major Van and Ora Lucille (Reed) Keese in Ada, Oklahoma. Following his graduation from Perry high school in 1958, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy for a four year term. He served with the Seventh Fleet aboard the heavy cruiser, USS St. Paul, operating in the Western Pacific.
John started college before he met and married the love of his life Phillis Ritter. His career path was engineering along with having many hobbies one of which was bird watching.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one granddaughter, Naomi Anderson.
Survivors include: his wife of the home Phillis; sons, Timothy and wife Olivia and Michael and his wife Lorrie; granddaughter, Jennifer Taylor and husband Andy and their children; grandson, Joshua and wife Gracie and their children; and sisters, Ann Yandell and Mary Jane Baldwin.
