Clifford Wayne Emmons was born March 2, 1960 in Phoenix, Arizona. His favorite subject is shop and his hobby is guns. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Emmons, 1014 Cedar street. Clifford plans to attend O. T. Autry Vocational Technical center at Enid.

Clifford “Wayne” Emmons, age 65, of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away on August 7, 2025, at home in Perry, Oklahoma.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 2, 1960, he was the son of Gary and Janice (Curran) Emmons. He grew up in Perry and graduated from Perry High School in 1978.

After high school, Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army. Wayne was a well-respected fire service leader. He served the Perry Fire Department for 32 years, retiring in 2019 at the rank of Fire Chief.

Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, arrowhead hunting, morel mushroom hunting, gardening, canning, metal detecting, shooting, and handloading. Most of all, Wayne loved his family dearly, especially his dog, Winston.

Preceding him in death were his father, Gary Emmons, and brother-in-law, Bob Reed.

Survivors include: his mother, Janice Emmons, of Perry, Oklahoma; daughter, Tahra Emmons, and her partner, Drew Pennington; grandchildren, Armando Pando, Ruben Pando Jr. and his partner, Patience Goforth, and Naomi Pando; great grandchild, Alonzo Pando; siblings, Gary Emmons and wife, Misty of Chandler, Oklahoma, Sandy Richardson and husband, Gary of Perry, Oklahoma, Cathy Condit of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Renae Reed of Enid, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Perry High School Auditorium with David Hatfield officiating. Memorial contribution checks may be made payable to “Perry Firefighters.”
