PHS Alumni Honor Roll Member

John Douglas Boone
Class of 1972
John Boone was born in Perry to Norman and Frances Boone. He attended Perry Public Schools, graduating from PHS in 1972. He then attended Northern Oklahoma College before returning to Perry to work in the construction industry.
John’s mother, Frances Boone, class of 1952, was one of the founding members of the Perry High School Alumni Association in 1987.
John married the former Cindy Hogan in 1975 and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. The two have four children and eight grandchildren.
In 1990, along with two partners, John and Cindy started a metal recycling business known as Northern Oklahoma Metals in Perry. Those partners were instrumental in helping the Boone family start the business from very humble and meager roots.
John was able to purchase the partners’ shares in 2000 and is forever grateful for their participation. Northern Oklahoma Metals expanded to Stillwater in 2010. The Boones then purchased Enid Iron and Metal in 2012. In 2015 John started Rolloffs Inc., a waste hauling company. Enid Iron expanded to Woodward and opened a new facility in 2023.
John has served on the Cherokee Strip Historical Society board and Perry City Council and was president of the Oklahoma Recyclers Association for 14 years, resigning in 2024.
John is most proud of the adults that his children have become. He is appreciative of their dedication to the family business. All four of John and Cindy’s children work for the company as well as a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and four grandchildren.
John attributes any success in his life to Jesus Christ first, his parents and grandparents, his wife Cindy and his many mentors.
