A high school band participant for four years, Kenneth Dale Yeargin, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Yeargin, 510 Holly street, was born in Paris, Texas. He started school at Heavener in the first grade, moved to Perry and has attended school here since. In the 1964-65 state contest he received an excellent rating in a saxophone sextet. Problems of American Democracy is Kenny’s favorite subject, and skiing and playing the guitar are his hobbies. He plans a business course to include two years at Northern Oklahoma college, and two years at Oklahoma State university.

Kenneth Dale “Ken” Yeargin

Kenneth Dale “Ken” Yeargin, age 61 years, 5 months and 13 days, entered eternal life September 3, 2009, from Tulsa. He was born March 21, 1948, in Paris, TX to Kent and Lona (McCown) Yeargin. Ken married Carolyn (Smith) March 18, 1990, in Las Vegas, NV. He worked many years as a crane operator for ConocoPhillips.

Ken was a member of Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church. An extremely generous man, Ken always loved to help others. Ken enjoyed his woodworking projects which included creating frames and fireplace mantles. He liked electronic gadgets, especially computers and TVs. Ken found joy spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his father Kent Yeargin, Ken was preceded in death by his brother Jeff Yeargin. Survivors include his loving wife Carolyn Yeargin; mother Lona Yeargin; sister and brother-in-law: Jackie and Tom Frailey; son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Kim Yeargin; daughter and son-in-law: Angela and Shane Kluver; daughter and son-in-law: Marcie and Byron Corwin; son Marty Schneeberger; grandchildren: Chance and Seth Dhalluin, Jordan Kluver, Schyler, Kenley and Ashton Yeargin, Logan, Ian and Landon Corwin, Dustin, Colton and Caitlin Scott.

Service: 10AM Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church; interment: 3PM Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, OK with Pastor Chris Buskirk officiating. Bequests may be directed to Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church, 4407 S. Olive Ave., Broken Arrow, OK 74011.
