John Thomas Severe

Class of 1970

John Severe, a 1970 PHS graduate, is being honored posthumously. He died in 2026.

He was an attorney in private practice in Stillwater, but also, over the years, he served as an Assistant City Attorney for the city of Stillwater, as a Payne and Logan County Assistant District Attorney, and as the Yale City Attorney.

Because John showed exceptional legal ability in serving his clients and applying high ethical standards, he was recognized by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV Preeminent Rated Lawyer.

He was on the Perry High School Alumni Association Board of Directors and had spent time assisting Stillwater United Way
Board of Directors, Stillwater YMCA Board of Directors, Stillwater Life Center Board of Directors, and Noon Lions Club.
