Maxine Ann (Shaw) Terrel

Maxine Ann Terrel, of Mulvane, Kansas, retired CNA, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice-St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 73.

Maxine was born the daughter of Paul McConaha and Hazel (Wells) McConaha on Saturday, September 29, 1934 in Cushing, Oklahoma.

On April 2, 1955, Maxine and Thomas Terrel were united in marriage at Wichita, Kansas. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James McConaha, Will Dean, Leon Cox, adoptive parents Albert “AF” Shaw and Ethel Marie Shaw.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Terrel of the home, daughters; Susan Kirby and her husband Clifford of Mulvane, Kansas and Deborah Hobbs of Mulvane, Kansas, sons; Thomas Terrel and his wife Christine of Douglas, Kansas, Steve Terrel and his wife Teresa of Mulvane, Kansas, David Terrel of Geuda Springs, Kansas, Paul Terrel and his wife Joann of Wichita, Kansas, Michael Terrel of Mulvane, Kansas, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brothers; George Dean and his wife Sue of Brownwood, Texas and Mike Compassi and his wife Jane of Waggoner, Oklahoma, sister, Barbara McCoy and her husband Rick of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Funeral services for Maxine will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2008 in First Free Will Baptist Church, 1219 North Plum, Wellington, Kansas with Pastor Zane Brooks officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2008.

Interment will follow in Littleton Cemetery, Mulvane, Kansas.

A memorial has been established in her loving memory with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 303 South Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202.
