Beverly Cowell

- daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James a Ballew, 315 Delaware, was born September 22, 1927, at Tulsa. She attended grade school at the Christ Lutheran school, and was a student of St. John’s college and academy at Winfield, Kan., for one year before becoming a student of Perry high school.

She belongs to the Lutheran church, and is active in the Walther League, has been in the Red Hots for three years, and has had training in the girls’ glee club.

She wants to take nurse’s training at University hospital in Enid after graduation.

Beverly June (Ballew) Cowell

September 22, 1927 – September 24, 2010

Beverly J. Cowell, 83, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of James Overton and Wahneta Iva Wolfe Ballew. She was born on September 22, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and died Friday, September 24, 2010 at Green Valley Nursing Home.

On December 9, 1944, Beverly married LeRoy Cowell in Perry, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1997. Beverly was a nurse for Dr. Arthur M. Brown for over 15 years.

Beverly is survived by two daughters, Clare Fulk and Jamee Clapper, both of Perry, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Leah Sean Fulk of Enid, Oklahoma, Abby Manley of Perry, Oklahoma, Amy Blankinship of Sweetwater, Tennessee, Clinton Smith of Denver, Colorado, Amanda Clapper of Perry, Oklahoma and Ross Clapper of Owasso, Oklahoma; sixteen greatgrandchildren and five greatgreat grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Cowell one grandson, Chuck Fulk and her parents, James and Wahneta Ballew.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2010, at the Grace Hill Memorial Pavilion in Grace Hill Cemetery. Rev. William Metz will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church or Companion Hospice.
