Harry A. DeLashmutt, Jr.

December 16, 1912 – February 14, 2004

Harry DeLashmutt, age 91, passed on February 14, 2004 surrounded by loved ones in Colorado Springs. Harry and his late wife, Rosemary, were residents of Colorado Springs since 1958. He retired in 1976 as District Executive with the Boy Scouts of America, Pikes Peak Council. Prior to coming to Colorado Springs, he served as field Scout Executive in El Paso, Texas and San Antonio, Texas.

Upon discharge from the Navy in 1945, he returned to Texas as a District Executive in Amarillo. Mr. DeLashmutt was a registered scouter for over 79 years, having received numerous awards including the prestigious Silver Beaver award, the James West Fellow award, and life member of the National Eagle Scout Association.

Harry was active in the Saturday Knights hiking club, The Winter Nights Club, Christian Businessmen’s Committee and was an avid golfer.

Mr. DeLashmutt is preceded in death by Rosemary Baer DeLashmutt, his wife of 53 years. He is survived by a son, Harry DeLashmutt, III of Marathon, Florida; two daughters, Donna Garner of Colorado Springs and Jaynie Bishop of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 20th at 2:30 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 219 East Bijou, Colorado Springs.
