Larkin Jess Kirtley

April 8, 1911 – May 6, 1997

Larkin J. Kirtley, 86, 1409 Jackson street, died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 1997 at St. Mary’s Mercy hospital at Enid.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian church. Rev. Lynn Scott, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery under direction of Brown Funeral home.

Kirtley was the son of William and Jennie Kirtley and was born northwest of Perry on April 8, 1911. He was a 1931 graduate of Perry high school. On Nov. 25, 1932 he and Dorothy Koch were married in Tulsa. Koch was an employee of Shell Pipeline Company until retiring in 1971. He was a member and elder of the First Christian church and a member of the Lions club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Clane Kirtley, Tonkawa, and Gary Kirtley, Enid; one daughter, Corene Jones, Norman; five grandsons, Kurt Kirtley, Enid, Mike Kirtley, Tonkawa, Gary Kirtley, Oklahoma City, Glenn Jones Jr., Ft. Worth, TX, and Gary D. Kirtley, Broken Arrow; three granddaughters, Kari Wilson, Woodward, Cindy Youtsey, Oklahoma City, and Cathy Wilson, Wichita, KS; seven great-grandchildren, Youtsey, Michael Youtsey, Noah Jones, Mathew Jones, Drew Kirtley, Ali Kirtley and Kelli Jones; and three sisters, Alice Koch, Perry, Mary Bocox, Medford, and Janice Endres, Edmond.
