Paul Nicewander

Paul Nicewander, 89, formerly of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Arthur and Emma (Kemnitz) Nicewander.

He was born on September 3, 1921 in Lucien, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, July 06, 2011 in Jenks, Oklahoma.

He worked for the Atchison-Topeka Santa Fe Railroad for 38 years. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and two American Legions in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was an avid ballroom and square dancer. He belonged to Wheel and Whirl and Single Squares. Paul enjoyed hunting and playing bridge and dominoes. He was known for having a great sense of humor.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Grace Hill Cemetery Pavilion. Andrew Nicewander will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.

Paul is survived by two sons, Don Nicewander and his wife. Barbara, of Inola, Oklahoma and John Nicewander and his wife, Anita, of Lillian, Texas; one daughter, Janel Ferguson and her husband. Garry, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Jami and Dan Beshear, Jaason Nicewander, Jaakob and Angie Nicewander, Jaaremy and Amy Nicewander, Dustin Nicewander. Andrew and Grace Nicewander, Rebekah Nicewander, Timothy Nicewander, Garry K. Ferguson
and Whitney Ferguson; ten great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Jeanne Nicewander and longtime friend and caregiver, Marla Bond.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Paul Nicewander; daughter-in-law, Janet Nicewander; great-grandson, James Granville Beshear; his parents and three brothers.
