La Wanda L. Chastain
– daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Chastain, Perry, was born in Maramec, November 8, 1926, and attended school at Quay, Yale, and Perry.
LaWanda has been an active student in band, having been in band at Quay and Yale as well as a member of the Perry band for two years.
She intends to enter Oklahoma A and M. college at Stillwater this fall.

LaWanda Lear Chastain, 73, died March 7, 2000 in the Manor Care Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2000, at the First Baptist Church in Geary.
Rev. Lonnie Rutherford will officiate and burial will be at the Geary Cemetery under the direction of Turner Funeral Home of Geary.
Ms. Chastain was born November 8, 1926 at Miramack, OK, the daughter of John R. and Mary Belle Stover Chastain. She graduated from Perry High School in 1944 and from Oklahoma A & M College in Stillwater, OK. She worked for Mobile Oil Co., Northwest Bank and retired from Liberty Bank in Oklahoma City, as vice-president of the International Division. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perry.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Reba Chastain, Chickasha; two nephews and their wives: Mark R. and Julie Chastain, Mustang; and Kevin and Sarah Chastain, Dalton, WI; three great nephews: John, Michael and Stephen Chastain; and two great nieces: Jordan and Dakota Chastain, Mustang; and a number of aunts and uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Chastain, and a nephew, John R. Chastain.
