Loyd Allen

– son of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Allen of Billings, Loyd was born in Billings and attended the West Lawn school near there before coming to Perry to school. He is a member of the F.F.A. club and plans to attend college next year.

Loyd George Allen

May 24, 1918 – April 1,1998

Loyd G. Allen, 79, northwest of Perry, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 1,1998 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.

Funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. Rev. Lynn Scott, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Polo cemetery, northwest of Perry, under direction of Brown Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Perry.

Allen was born May 24, 1918 on the farm his parents homesteaded, the same farm where he lived prior to his death. His parents were Richard and Fannie (Oakley) Allen.

He and Lovella May Swearingen were married at Perry on July 14, 1940. She preceded her husband in death in June, 1991.

Allen farmed in the Polo community, northwest of Perry until 1946, when he became an employee of United Carbon & Ashland Oil Company at Santana, KS. He later transferred to Aransas Pass, TX and New Iberia, LA. Allen retired in 1980 and returned to the family homestead.

Allen was a member of the First Christian Church of Perry.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Lew Hazlewood, Sulphur, LA, and Jimmy and Carol Post, Richardson, TX; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, a step-great-granddaughter, three brothers, Wayne, of Perry, Leland, of Tulsa, and Dean, of Sapulpa; and a sister-in-law, Elmeta Kodesh, Ponca City.
