Locie Marie (Swearingen) Fairchild

October 1, 1906 – November 26, 2002

Locie Fairchild, 96, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.

She was born Oct. 1, 1906, to Obed Theodore and Nellie (David) Swearingen in Stansberry, Mo.

She married Bertram Harry Fairchild April 3, 1936, in Houston, Texas. He died Jan. 3, 1990.

She was a 1926 graduate of Perry High School in Perry, Okla.

She was a resident of Liberal for the past 50 years.

She was a homemaker.

She attended First United Methodist Church and the Circle Three Church in Liberal.

Survivors include one son, B.H. “Pete” Fairchild, Jr., and wife, Patricia, Claremont, Calif.; one daughter, Marie Helen Henson and husband, Warren, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Swearingen, Fairfax, Okla.; two sisters, Dorrell Coffman, Oklahoma City, and Deannie Gilbert, Morrison, Okla.; five grandchildren, Paul Fairchild and wife, Rachael, Sarah Fairchild, Skipper Henson and wife, Tera, Heather Henson and Craig Henson; and one great-grandchild, Cole Fairchild.

* Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal with the Rev. John Andrews presiding. Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
