Ruth Esther Willett

– daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Y. V. Willett, was born in Douglas, Okla., and has attended schools in Goltry, Okla., Edmond and Perry. She has been a member of the Student Council for two years, glee club, National honor society, Journalism club, Order of Rainbow for Girls and has had leading parts in the senior class play and the operetta this year. She plans on studying dress designing.

Ruth Esther (Willett) Lanza

April 17, 1921 – June 26, 2000

Ruth Esther “Toni” Lanza died June 26, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a published author and homemaker.

Mrs. Lanza was born in Douglas, Okla., to Yeulin V. and Ruth (Fink) Willett, who are deceased. She was married April 13, 1940, to Anthony J. “Tony” Lanza, who is deceased.

She is survived by three sons, Anthony L. “Tony”, Charles L. “Chuck” and Matthew L. “Matt”; three daughters, Suzanne L. Cowen, Melissa L. Black and Carmela Lanza-Weil; a sister, Genevieve Slade; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles F. Willett.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pauline Chapel, 9 El Pomar Road. Cappadona’s Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.
