- daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Kasenberg, has one of the outstanding records for scholastic and activity achievement in this year’s class. She was a Member of the Girl Reserves here.

She lives at 826 Elm. Lila Mae is a Wichita, Kans. girl by birth but is a true Perry Maroon now.

She attended schools in Wichita, Seminole, Blackwell, Vinita, Gentry, Ark., and in Perry. At all the schools she attended she was one of the leaders in school activities. She clerked in a store on Saturdays during her high school days. Her hobbies are collecting things for her scrapbook, singing and dancing. After graduation she plans to attend Tonkawa University Preparatory college.

McCarter, Lilah, 87, died Feb. 15, 2009 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home, Mulvane, Kansas.

Visitation 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Affinity Mortuary; service 11 a.m. Thursday, Metropolitan Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by husband of 61 years.

Survivors: Pam (John) Overstreet of Washington, Jan (Ron) Bales of Mulvane; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Darrel Case of Texas.

She will be missed by all. She touched all she met and never met a stranger.
