Arlene Jirous
Another future Oklahoma Aggie is Arlene Joan Jirous, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jirous, 912 Holly, who has announced her intention of attending A. and M. college at Stillwater in coming months.
She was born here and has spent all her life here. Grade school at New Hope and St. Joseph’s academy preceded her four years of high school work.
She is president of the Catholic study club this year and has been a member of the Red Hots for three years.
Arlene Joan (Jirous) Swartz

Arlene Swartz, 67, 1010 Kaw street, died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 1993, at Presbyterian hospital in Oklahoma City.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Brown Funeral home of Perry. Rev. Rod Masteller, pastor of Putnam City Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be at Grace Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Swartz was the daughter of Charlie and Anna Jirous and was born southeast of Perry on June 27, 1926. She attended Noble county rural schools and was a 1943 graduate of Perry high school. She also attended Oklahoma State university.
She and George Swartz were married at Perry, Oct. 12, 1946. Mrs. Swartz had worked as a bookkeeper for O. J. Moore at the Chevrolet dealership in Perry.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four sons, Phillip Swartz, Oklahoma City, and Robert Swartz, Roger Swartz, and Larry Swartz, all of Perry; one brother, Marvin “Bud” Jirous, Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren.
