Jewell Ada (Klinglesmith) Sherrard

February 12, 1912 – July 18, 1992

Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Monday for Jewell Sherrard, 80, 909 Eleventh street, who died at 7:38 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 1992, at Perry Memorial hospital.

The graveside service was at Grace Hill cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Jim Gentry. Burial was under direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Born Feb. 12, 1912, at Macomb, Okla., she was the daughter of Louis and May Klinglesmith. She came to the Perry area in 1926.

She was married Nov. 5, 1932, to Eddie Cooper, who died in 1949.

She was married Aug. 7, 1950, to Grant Sherrard, who survives. Mrs. Sherrard had worked 30 years at the Cooper Motor Co. and was a member of the First Baptist church.

Survivors include her husband, Grant Sherrard, of the home; three daughters, Shirley Rae Smoot, Altus; Joan Melicher, Riverside, Calif.; and Gaynell Fagan, Ontario, Calif.; one son, LeRoy Sherrard, Upland, Calif.; two brothers, Don Klinglesmith, Perry, and Billy Don Klinglesmith, Santo, Texas; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and two grandchildren.
