Frances Virginia (Mickish) Hansing

Frances Virginia Hansing, 94, of Arkansas City, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center in Arkansas City, KS.

Graveside funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 25 at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma with Pastor Aaron Summers of the First Baptist Church, Perry, OK officiating. No visitation is scheduled at the family’s request. A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society and can be left at Hawks Funeral Home & Cremation Service 906 West Kansas, Arkansas City, KS.

Frances was born on November 24, 1913 the daughter of Frank and Teresa Tetyak Mickish in Perry, OK. She attended Perry High School and graduated in 1933. Frances was united in marriage with Elmer Hansing on April 17, 1939. They celebrated 62 years of marriage. She was a homemaker and taught school in Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Surviving to honor her memory is her sister; Irene Gum of Tulsa, OK, nephews; Robert Gum and wife Linda of Haslet, TX, Darrell Gum and wife Roxanne of McKinney, TX, Earl Slaven and wife Jean of Arkansas City, KS, Ron Slaven and wife Nikki of Arkansas City, KS, nieces; Mona Ball and husband Ora Lee of Arkansas City, KS and LoRenne Slaven of Arkansas City, KS, Cheryl Butler and her husband Doug of Virginia, and other numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer Hansing, brothers; Bert, Bill, John, and Frank Mickish, sisters; Katie Zavondy, Mary Slaven, Ella Perriot and Emma Slaven.
