Louise Hoskins

Plans after graduation are still indefinite for Catherine Louise Hoskins, a member of the 1943 senior class.

The daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. John H. Hoskins of 639 Ivanhoe, Louise is a native Perryan, having been born here 17 years ago.

She attended the elementary school of this city before entering Perry high school

Catherine “Louise” (Hoskins) Wilson

October 25, 1925 – September 2, 2014

Catherine ‘Louise’ Hoskins was born October 25, 1925, in Perry, Noble County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of John Henry Hoskins and Ina Iona (Hill) Hoskins. All twelve years of her education was in the Perry Public Schools, she graduated from Perry High School in May of 1943.

Louise and Wallace Eugene ‘Gene’ Wilson (also a graduate of Perry High School) were married March 7, 1944, at the First Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma with the Reverend James V. Gray officiating. They were married for sixty-one years before his death on July 7, 2005. Mr. Wilson was serving in the U. S. Navy at the time of their marriage and stationed on Coronado Island, where their first child was born. A short time later he received his honorable discharge from the Navy and they returned to Perry before moving to Kansas, after which the family moved to Anaheim, California where they lived until death took them.

A member in long standing of the First Baptist Church of Anaheim, Louise was a blessing to many of the elderly ladies doing in-home helps and services. She also served many years in the church kitchen and nursery.

She died September 2, 2014, at home in Anaheim surrounded by family, and was buried next to her beloved husband in Harbor Lawn Mt. Olive Cemetery in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California.

She is survived by her six children – Marie Ann Wilson in California, David Eugene Wilson in Florida, Janet Mctaggart in Japan, Ruth Elaine Nelson in Arizona, Kevin Dean Wilson in California, Ronda Lee Wilson in California. And seventeen grand children. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Estelle (Hoskins) Clark of Oklahoma and a brother Gerald Wayne ‘Jerry’ Hoskins of Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Lawrence Russell Hoskins (deceased May 10, 2006) of Kansas.
