Richard Hicks plans to enroll at Oklahoma A. & M. college after graduation from Perry high school. Richard, 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Hicks, route 3, Perry. Born Nov. 6, 1933, in Carnegie, Richard has attended schools at Perry and Stillwater. Since 1949 he has been a member of the Perry chapter of Future Farmers of America.

Richard S. “Dick” Hicks

November 6, 1933 – July 4, 2003

Richard S. “Dick” Hicks passed away Friday, July 4, 2003, at his residence in Simonton, TX.

Born November 6, 1933, in Carnegie, Oklahoma, he was the son of E.P. and Edna Wilson Hicks. He graduated from Perry High School in Perry, OK, and was employed with Strouhal Tire.

He is preceded in death by his son, Dale Allen Hicks; parents, E.P. and Edna Hicks; and brothers, Kenneth Hicks, Donald Hicks, and Dale Hicks.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Hicks and daughters: Holly and Bree of Simonton, TX; four sons: Gary Hicks of Sugar Land, TX, Steve Hicks of Richmond, TX, Bill and Dale Kagey of Houston, TX; three daughters: Linda Curtis of Pendleton, OR, Dawn Luster and Kelly Daugherty of Houston, TX; three brothers: Weldon of Houston, TX, Earl Dean of Perry, OK, and Harold of Tulsa, OK; one sister: Betty Ann Smith of Glen Ellen, MD; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 7, 2003, at the Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, TX, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
