Phyllis Ann (Karcher) Sams

January 16, 1936 – August 11, 2017

Phyllis Karcher Sams passed away August 11, 2017 at the age of 81 while riding with her husband of 64 years, Larry Sams, to feed the deer around Lake Carl Blackwell.

Phyllis held a Masters degree and worked in the Muskogee County Schools system as a teacher and the Director of Food Services. Phyllis and Larry have two children, Dirk Sams and spouse Susan of Bixby, and Liane Potter of Saint Petersburg, Florida. Phyllis very much enjoyed her four grand-girls and loved them all very much. Phyllis and Larry enjoyed traveling all over the world and family was her number one priority. Her most recent worry was getting the magnolia tree to grow in the backyard. Life was good for her.

Funeral will be Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church at 11:00am. A viewing will be completed at Strode Funeral Home prior to funeral.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to Oklahoma 4-H Foundation, 205 4-H Development Building, Stillwater, OK 74075. Any donations will be exempt from future marketing contacts.
