Frances Fern (Taylor) Copeland

April 9, 1917 – December 13, 2007

Frances Fern Copeland of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Lucien, Oklahoma on April 9, 1917 and graduated from Perry High School in 1935.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Eugene Taylor, her sister Irene and brothers Joe and Gene Taylor.

Frances married Paul Copeland in 1940 after he graduated from A&M (OSU). They settled in Waurika, Oklahoma and moved to Pauls Valley in 1966 where they have lived ever since. Her husband Paul worked for the Soil Conservation service for 35 years and also retired as a lt. colonel from the United States Army Reserves.

Mrs. Copeland was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed collecting antiques and beer steins. She was a wonderful cook, and family favorites included her delicious homemade ice cream, carrot cake and toll house cookies. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandson Paul Alan. She also loved her little Yorkie dog named Presley. The memory of Mrs. Copeland will always be in her family’s hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Paul of 67 years; grandson, Paul Alan Copeland; son, Glen and his wife Sharon and her two sons, Bill and Matt. She is also survived by her brother, Glen Taylor; sister, Marie Rhodes; and six nieces and nephews: Betty Colvin, Mary Miller, Marilyn, James, Gene and Kenney Rhodes.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, December 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Laflin Creek Cemetery in Alex, Oklahoma. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 16 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
