Ruby Irene (Hinson) Jackson

August 13, 1909 – April 18, 2003

Ruby Irene Jackson died at 7:25 a.m. Friday Apr. 18 in the Dade County Nursing Home, Greenfield, Mo. at the age of 93 years.

Ruby was born Aug. 13, 1909 to Alva and Jane (Johnson) Hinson. She was a graduate of Perry, Okla. High School and a member of Cushing First Christian Church. She was married to Thomas Everett Jackson on June 29, 1934 in Bristow.

Ruby was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed working hard for the doctors when she had been employed. Ruby was an avid card player and played Bridge excellently. She was very active in the Cushing Senior Citizens Center.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband in 1966, and two sisters, Totsy Shore and Arky L. Harsham.

Survivors include two sons; Bob and his wife Valerie Jackson of Greenfield, Mo., and Tom and his wife Norma Jackson of Ft. Worth, Texas, one sister; Elvona Springer of Stillwater, six grandchildren; Robert C. Jackson of Willard, Mo., Kristi Jackson of Springfield, Mo., Bryan Jackson of Springfield, Mark Jackson of Abilene, Texas, Kara Jackson of Ft. Worth, and Tyler Jackson of Ft. Worth, and one great-grandson; Stoney Jackson of Willard, Mo. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Services were held 10 a.m. Monday, Apr. 21 in Cushing First Christian Church with Rev. Jon Goeringer officiating. Burial followed at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing. The family received friends Saturday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Greenfield Funeral Chapel, Greenfield, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to Cushing’s First Christian Church.
