Jessie Mae (Mooter) Hoot

February 25, 1908 – September 18, 1986

Jessie Mae Hoot, 75, 1903 Lakeview drive, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Perry Memorial hospital where she had been a patient since Sept. 5.

Cremation will take place under direction of Brown Funeral home. A memorial service has been planned for 2 p.m. Oct. 3 at the First Presbyterian church. Rev. Jim Dunkin, the church pastor, will officiate.

Mrs. Hoot, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Mooter, was born Feb. 25, 1908, at Ponca City. She was a graduate of Perry high school and received her masters degree in education from the University of Oklahoma.

She and physician Dr. Paul M. Hoot, were married in 1929. Hoot preceded his wife in death.

Mrs. Hoot was a teacher in the Perry school system for 30 years. She had been a member of the Oklahoma and National Education associations. After her retirement, she was involved in tutoring.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian church where she taught Sunday school a number of years.

Surviving are one son, Dr. Paul Hoot, Kent, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
